· What is Cityvoice?
Cityvoice is a broadband phone network that works over your existing broadband internet connection.
· How does CityVoice work?
CityVoice uses Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). In doing so, CityVoice transforms voice data into internet packets which are sent over your existing broadband internet service. These packets are then transformed back into voice data and sent to the call recipient.
· How do I use it?
Using CityVoice is exactly like using a regular phone line.
· Do I need a computer to use the phone service?
No, you do not need a computer to make phone calls, just a phone. The only requirement for the phone is an existing high speed internet connection and the provided equipment.
· Can I call anywhere?
You can call anywhere in the US and Canada. If you want to make international calls, please contact a representative of Cityvoice to upgrade your account. We have great international rates that are listed on the web at http://cityvoice.biz
· Do I need a special phone to use with the CityVoice equipment provided?
No, you may use any standard or cordless phone that you would normally use in your home.
· How does the phone line sound compared to a traditional phone line?
The voice quality is exactly the same on analogue phones and even better on digital phones.
· I already have a phone line and I want to keep my current phone number. Can I do that?
Yes. You will simply need to fill out a request form for us to send to your current provider along with an invoice from your existing phone service provider. Once that is done, we will contact you when the number has been moved. In the meantime you can use the free phone number provided on your VoIP phone for incoming and outgoing calls so that you will save long distance charges.
